Are you interested in learning to fly but unsure if Paragliding or Paramotoring is for you? If this is you, then take advantage of our 1 Day Introductory course to flying a paraglider.
This introductory course offers hands-on practical experience to assist whether this is the sport for you, or to help you decide if foot launch or wheelbase flying is preferred.
Dates – Available on request, weather dependent, conducted mostly over weekends.
Price – $450 (including 1 month SAFA Student membership fee) and all equipment.
Numbers – Min 2, Max 3 student pilots per course.
A typical Day on Course
- 7:30am: Meet at the Granite Field Flight Training Centre for administration, basic flight theory and equipment familiarisation.
- 10am: Walk out to training field and learn how to inflate, control, and deflate a paraglider wing (referred to as ground handling)
- 1pm: Break for lunch
- Depending on weather conditions, the afternoon will consist of more ground handling from the training field or from our 10m training hill.
- A Student Trial Instructional Flight (TIF) will be conducted late in the afternoon with an instructor where the student will be able to fly themselves.
- Flight debrief.
At the end of this course, you will have a sound understanding on what is involved with ground handling a wing, and the thrill of fly.
Note: If the Student TIF is preferred in the morning due to the weather conditions, we will meet on the field to sign student waivers and conduct the TIF. Start time may vary due to seasonal sunrise times.
The cost of the 1 Day Introductory course will be deducted from the full course fees if a full course is booked within 2 months of completing the introductory course
